Q: Is it safe to put asset data in the cloud?

A: It depends on three things: transport and storage security, access permissions, and backup and compliance. AssetaGuard's cloud edition backs up business data daily, targets 99.5% monthly availability, and has permission and approval governance in place (✅ shipped) — departments can only see assets within their own permission scope, and viewing, transfer, and write-off of sensitive devices are controlled by role. Companies that must keep data fully self-owned, or where regulation forces on-premises hosting, should go straight to the on-premises edition. Specific SLA and compliance terms are governed by contract — confirm written commitments with sales before purchasing.

Q: Is the on-premises edition hard to deploy? Do we maintain it ourselves?

A: Deployment itself isn't complicated — Docker one-click install, no implementation fee, self-deployed on your own server and private network. But compared to SaaS, you prepare your own server environment and handle day-to-day maintenance and upgrades yourself: the buyout price includes 6 months of standard warranty, and subsequent annual support and version upgrades are billed separately per quote. Q: What happens to our data when the SaaS subscription expires?

A: After a subscription expires, data is retained for 30 days by default. The data itself can be exported at any time through the authorized on-prem REST API (implementation quoted separately; SaaS excludes customer access) and CSV import/export — it isn't locked into the system. Renewal or migration arrangements follow the contract and are confirmed with sales.

Q: When should we NOT rush to put a system in?

A: If the ledger and the physical stock haven't been fully counted, do a thorough count and align the baseline first (RFID prevents "losing track from now on," it doesn't recover what's already lost). With only a few dozen assets and simple needs, Excel is enough. For deep capabilities like real-time bidirectional MES integration — the authorized on-prem REST API (implementation quoted separately; SaaS excludes customer access) + CSV are shipped, but real-time bidirectional MES integration is on the roadmap (🛣️ exploring), so don't treat it as a delivered capability.

Q: Our company has no dedicated IT operations. Can we still choose on-premises?
